Rokwil is a property development company based in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal. Established in 2007 under the leadership of Rod Stainton, a chartered accountant with over 20 years' experience in property development, consulting, and management. Our vision is to act as a catalyst for economic change in the areas in which we operate.
We focus on large-format industrial and logistics projects along the Durban–Pietermaritzburg N3 corridor, with Keystone Park at Hammarsdale as our flagship development. This 152-hectare serviced logistics precinct yields over 1 million m² of platform area and has reached maturity with major blue-chip occupiers including Mr Price Group (100,000 m² under roof), Ackermans (94,000 m²), Pepkor (122,000 m²), plus manufacturing facilities for Dromex, Kerry Ingredients, Nu Dawn Eggs, Malda Pack, and many others.
Our developments are recognised by industry bodies including the Hammarsdale Cato Ridge Development Association and municipal planning authorities as catalytic projects for Outer-West KZN. We collaborate closely with local community leadership structures to support grassroots development and have strong relationships with regional and provincial government entities.

2005 – Foundations & Market Research
Early research begins on the economic potential of the N3 corridor. The founding team identifies a massive gap in industrial development between Durban and Pietermaritzburg.
2007 – Rokwil Formally Established
The business is officially registered with a core focus on industrial platforms, logistics hubs, and strategically located commercial zones.
2010 – First Infrastructure Collaborations
Rokwil starts working with civil engineering partners to design bulk services, stormwater networks, and future platform layouts for large-scale distribution sites.
2012 – Strategic Land Banking
Multiple parcels of land are acquired along key growth nodes, shaping the blueprint for future mega-developments.
2015 – First Industrial Park Completed
Rokwil delivers its first medium-scale industrial park, attracting logistics, manufacturing, and storage tenants. This proves the company's long-term viability in the region.
2017 – Partnerships With National Retailers
Major South African retail chains begin exploring DC opportunities with Rokwil, setting the stage for larger developments.
2019 – Engineering & Environmental Master Planning
Rokwil invests in environmental studies, road upgrades, zoning processes, and long-term master plans for a multi-phase industrial precinct.
2020 – Keystone Park Vision Activated
Bulk earthworks, road infrastructure, water reticulation, and platform preparation begin for what will become one of KZN's most strategically placed industrial precincts.
2021 – Tenant Commitments & Site Growth
Confirmed interest from logistics operators, FMCG suppliers, national retailers, and manufacturing partners drives rapid expansion.
2022 – Mega Distribution Centres Break Ground
The first large-format DCs are launched, involving tens of thousands of square metres of warehouse and handling facilities.
2023 – Community & Economic Impact Focus
Investments are made in access road upgrades, local contractor participation, skills development programs, environmental sustainability, and safer transport flows along the N3.
2024 – Portfolio Expansion & Regional Influence
